Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Klamath Orthopedic Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical providers in a fast-paced clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial medical history screenings, blood pressure checks, and medication reviews to ensure accurate patient records.
- Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments, preparing orders for labs and diagnostic studies, and addressing patient messages and phone calls.
- Maintain and clean patient exam rooms to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phones, photocopying, and completing forms, to support the efficient operation of the clinic.
- Prepare and send approved prescriptions to pharmacies or patients, and accurately prepare injections under the direction of medical providers.
- Review medical histories, current allergies, and medications, following HIPAA standards, and assist patients with phone calls and telephone counseling under the direct supervision of medical providers.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior orthopedic experience in a medical office is highly preferred, and certification as a Medical Assistant is also highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a urine analysis and criminal background check.

Working Conditions:
This position requires working in a fast-paced clinic setting, with frequent exposure to patients and medical equipment. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
