Job Overview

Serenity Behavioral Health Systems has been serving the behavioral health needs of East Central Georgia for over 35 years. As a Licensed Certified Addiction Counselor, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome dependencies and recover from mental or physical illness.

Salary: $68,000 - $70,000 per year

Job Description

As an Addiction Counselor with Serenity Behavioral Health, your primary responsibilities will include performing psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring, and discharge planning. You will provide counseling/therapy to individuals requiring complex intervention and perform commitment determinations and/or execute orders of involuntary commitments. Additionally, you will serve as a job expert or organization resource in assigned areas, act as a project or team leader, and advocate for individual clients to coordinate required services or resolve crisis situations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively with diverse populations, and maintain a safe therapeutic environment that honors choice and recognizes individual strengths, needs, desires, and preferences. You should also be able to document all interactions within 24 hours of service delivery and maintain a Canceled by Therapist (CBT) rate below 3%.
