Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Support Associate to join our Central Nursing team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the physical environment of our unit, setting up equipment and supplies, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove and replace linens in patient care areas, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Distribute water pitchers, cups, and straws as directed by the RN, promoting patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing patient belongings, conducting inventory, securing, and transporting items as needed.
  • Perform patient transport of discharged patients, ensuring timely and efficient discharge processes.
  • Prepare patients for transport by notifying them and arranging transportation, enhancing the patient experience.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of patient care supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized environment.
  • Remove waste and maintain a clean and safe environment within patient rooms and throughout the unit.
  • Redistribute supplies within the unit, maintaining pars and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Retrieve supplies from Pneumatic Tube, Central Distribution, and replenish as needed, streamlining our supply chain.
  • Redistribute medications picked up from the pneumatic tube system, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Notify SCM/Logistics Manager of non-par stocked specialty order needs, facilitating efficient ordering and delivery.
  • Perform regular regulatory compliance rounds, ensuring adherence to infection prevention standards and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Facilitate exchange of emergency code carts and intubation boxes to/from Pharmacy, Central Sterile Processing, and Central Distribution, promoting efficient and effective care.
  • Transport clinical equipment to and from various departments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school education or equivalent, with a working knowledge of English in verbal, reading, and writing abilities. You should be able to perform the job satisfactorily within 3 months, demonstrating a strong ability to learn and adapt to our team's needs.
