Data Center Technician

World Wide Technology is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center facilities, hardware, and communications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and relocate distributed systems and network hardware in the Americas Data Centers
  • Install and test carrier circuits to network hardware
  • Install and relocate patch cabling for systems and network hardware
  • Manage network ports and assist with the management of consumable items
  • Maintain the integrity of data center facilities, systems, and communications environments
  • Ensure compliance with data center standards, policies, and processes
  • Coordinate activities in support of projects and technical requests
  • Provide clear and detailed turnover to next shift workers
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in data center facilities, hardware, and communications infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of WAN technologies, subnetting, and TCP/IP protocol
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Knowledge of trouble ticketing systems, change control, and project processes
  • Logical problem-solving techniques and experience in system, data center facilities, and telecommunications
