Role ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Analyst in Government Affairs will play a crucial role in managing essential workflows that relay proposed and enacted legislation, regulations, bulletins, and other regulatory information to relevant teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, drafting summaries of significant developments, and communicating insights to Oscar's compliance team regarding potential business impacts.
- Serving as a resource for public policy and legislative trends across the organization.
- Reporting directly to the Government Affairs Counsel.
Oscar promotes a blended work culture that fosters connection among team members, regardless of their work arrangement. Employees within commuting distance of our offices are expected to work in-office at least two days a week, while remote options are available for those outside the area.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position varies by location, with a base pay of $76,800 - $100,800 in specific states and $69,720 in others. In addition to competitive pay, employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Ideal candidates will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, political science, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in health insurance, legislative staff roles, or similar regulated industries.
- Proficiency in legislative tracking and project management.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience with tools such as Westlaw and legislative tracking software.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act and state-based exchanges.
- Experience in individual and group insurance markets.
- Collaboration experience with legal professionals and team members.
