Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures that require ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialize in performing cardiac ultrasound diagnostic studies, including m-mode, two-dimensional cardiac ultrasound, Doppler color flow studies, stress echos, and AV optimization procedures.
  • Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence.
  • Operate and maintain all assigned ultrasound scanning equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Position patients, select appropriate transducers and machine settings, and conduct scanning procedures to capture images requested by physicians.
  • Complete quality assurance processes and practices, and comply with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certified as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal cardiac sonographer training program (1-4 years) with registry eligibility and certification within one year
  • Current BLS certification
