Job Title: Assembly Supervisor

Job Summary:

This is a responsible supervisory and technical role involving advanced technical expertise in supervision, administration of a departmental shift, injection molding, painting, welding, gluing, inking, decoration, and assembly of component plastic parts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, enforcing all applicable rules and regulations, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct finishing and assembly activities of classifications assigned to finishing area
  • Direct, instruct, and train new and promoted employees, and monitor, evaluate, and correct employee performance and behavior as necessary
  • Assure proper training of all hourly employees assigned to decoration activities, including proper training in safe operation of machines
  • Investigate and implement disciplinary actions in accord with corporate personnel policies and procedures
  • Audit and record quality and productivity of subordinates
  • Assure compliance with all applicable departmental and corporate policies and procedures
  • Plan, coordinate, and regulate work flow throughout department in accordance with SLMS
  • Coordinate, assist, and review problems and changes with supervisors on other shifts, and collaborate with other departments as necessary to assure quality, productivity, and inspection procedures meet departmental, shift, and company requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in company programs such as communications, job training, vacation scheduling, etc.
  • Prepare reports, memos, schedules, and other supporting documentation as necessary
  • Insure that all daily process checks are completed accurately
  • Comply with environmental health and safety system
  • Use Root Cause problem solving techniques to bring resolution to quality problems and prevent repeat quality issues
  • Complete housekeeping checklists
  • Perform other duties as required or directed

Requirements:

  • One year of related experience in a leadership role
  • Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices
  • Possesses the ability to train others for routine positions
  • A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Technical score of 20 on the Cognitive portion)
