Patient Care Technician

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and record patient data, reporting information and observations to the nursing team in a timely manner.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, height, weight, nutritional intake and output, and perform blood glucose monitoring.
- Perform routine urinary catheter care and collect and transport specimens as requested.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and maintaining continence.
- Answer and respond to patient call lights and requests in a timely manner.
- Complete and maintain unit and patient records, files, forms, and documents related to work area management and patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including records, files, forms, and reference documents.
- Check, update, and maintain facility boards, pneumatic tube system, and telemetry box reconciliation according to departmental policy and procedures.
- Prepare reports, purchase orders, projects, memos, and letters using computer programs.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and colleagues.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
