Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development:
Generate and pursue new business opportunities promptly and effectively. Assess new business prospects in line with agency criteria. Support clients in modifying coverage within an automated framework backed by an imaging system; evaluate billing timelines and issue invoices accordingly, utilizing each client interaction to review and enhance their overall account. Educate clients on policy coverage, modifications, exclusions, and their insurance requirements. Prepare proposals and finalize new business applications. Submit applications to suitable and qualified carriers. Secure client signatures on all applications; follow up to ensure timely acquisition of quotes and policies. Address client requests by producing binders, policies, endorsements, and related documents; ensure their accuracy. Maintain and refresh electronic and client activity records. Adhere to agency credit and collection policies in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments, and request cancellations from carriers as per agency standards.Marketing Initiatives:
Proactively seek opportunities to increase coverage and enhance accounts through sales to clients; maintain thorough documentation of all interactions. Refer existing and potential clients to the Life/Benefits Department and Commercial Lines for additional business opportunities. Assist or undertake other assignments as directed by agency leadership.Personal and Professional Development:
Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and responsibilities. Foster a positive and effective relationship with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors, and other business associates. Stay informed about industry trends, new product offerings, legislation, coverage, and technology to continually enhance knowledge and performance. Engage with others effectively by employing strong communication skills, collaborating purposefully, and providing necessary information and guidance to achieve the agency's business objectives. Update the agency management system with relevant notes and follow-ups as required to ensure continuity for other staff members. Regularly check follow-up items to stay current on ongoing processes.Additional duties may be assigned as necessary or required. Required Technical Knowledge:
Achieve assigned sales targets. Hold an active Property & Casualty license. Possess comprehensive knowledge of insurance products and their applications. Have a solid understanding of rating procedures, coverage, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and underwrite assigned client and prospect portfolios. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of insurance markets and relevant references. Ability to execute complex tasks involving both concrete and abstract variables. Strong computer skills are essential, with a clear understanding of functionality.Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of two years of experience in personal lines insurance is preferred.Benefits and Perks:
