We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Clinician to join our team at Christus Health. As a Wound Care Clinician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wound care services to patients, working closely with our clinical team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patients with wounds, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to promote wound healing and prevent further complications.
- Collaborate with our clinical team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on wound care and management.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest wound care research and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance our wound care services.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
- Four years of experience and/or training directly applicable to the position may substitute for degree.
- Current New Mexico license or compact state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse required.
- BLS issued through the American Heart Association required, ACLS preferred.
- Wound Care and/or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy certifications preferred.
- Experience in general nursing, wound care, hyperbaric oxygen, and outpatient clinical operations.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement professional journals and regulatory documents.
- Ability to learn and use wound care products.
- Ability to multi-task and possess effective and mature communication skills.
- Ability to read and speak Spanish a plus.
This position requires the ability to handle emergency/crisis situations, move or assist in moving patients and equipment, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent prolonged standing and walking.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to lift, position, push, transfer patients and equipment, and work in an environment with exposure to infectious disease, bloodborne pathogens, and caustic chemicals.
