About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team at Apex Ventures. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement functional safety requirements in automotive and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Safety Concept Development: Develop, analyze, and implement functional and technical safety concepts, system architectures, and safety-critical components and systems (hardware and software).
  • Verification and Validation: Implement and verify safety concepts, taking into account relevant standards, and accompany HW/SW development to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Risk Management: Participate in conducting and moderating hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety analyses (e.g. FMEA, FTA, or HARA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Management and Supervision: Execute safety-related management activities, review and verify work results, and coordinate and plan necessary functional safety activities, potentially including supervision, support, and technical management of suppliers.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, physics, or a comparable qualification, with existing experience in the field of functional safety or willingness to familiarize oneself with relevant standards (e.g. ISO26262, IEC 61508, ISO).
  • Skills and Qualities: Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and challenging technical issues in innovative projects, independent and structured working style, strong problem-solving skills, and basic knowledge in software or hardware development.
