Research Engineer I

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioprocess Engineer to join our team at the University of Georgia's New Materials Institute. As a key member of our Polymer and Coatings Research and Production team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing commercial biomaterial and bioprocessing applications.
Key Responsibilities- Create and implement process design strategies for bioprocessing and fermentation systems.
- Maintain bioprocessing equipment and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with teammates to develop and implement low-cost, high-productivity research and manufacturing capabilities using developed organisms and techniques.
To be successful in this role, you will need a solid understanding of bioprocess engineering, including bioreactors, microbiology laboratory growth, and evaluation equipment and procedures. You should also have knowledge of production design and extraction/separation of synthesized products, as well as computer expertise with CAD: Inventor, Multiphysics, and iSee simulation modeling.
Working EnvironmentThis is a full-time position with a regular schedule of 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday-Friday, with occasional nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
