Role OverviewAs a key member of the Test & Flight Operations team, you will provide essential support to various business units, concentrating on the design, construction, and upkeep of ground systems, testing, and launch facilities across diverse locations.
The Senior Piping Systems Engineer is instrumental in the design and validation of piping systems. Drawing on your extensive background, you will utilize your comprehensive knowledge of AutoPIPE to ensure compliance with ASME B31.3 process piping standards.
Expertise in FE PIPE and NozzlePRO for the qualification of ASME Section VIII Vessel nozzles and pipe support design is crucial.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and evaluation of process piping systems tailored for aerospace ground applications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to guarantee adherence to industry standards and optimal performance.
- Employ AutoPIPE to execute thorough analyses and designs for intricate piping systems, ensuring alignment with ASME B31.3 regulations.
- Utilize your proficiency in FE PIPE and NozzlePRO to validate Section VIII Vessel nozzles, applying advanced methodologies to achieve precise outcomes.
- Provide specialized expertise in pipe support design and validation to maintain the stability and efficiency of piping and process systems.
- Establish and manage workflow processes for rapid construction, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and streamlined development of piping systems.
- Conduct peer reviews of project deliverables, offering constructive feedback and mentorship to junior engineers to promote their professional development.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in piping engineering, emphasizing the qualification of ASME B31.3 process piping systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing AutoPIPE for advanced piping system analysis and design.
- Proficient in FE PIPE and NozzlePRO for the qualification of Section VIII Vessel nozzles.
- Experienced in pipe support design and validation.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards and codes pertinent to piping system design and validation.
- Strong analytical skills and the capability to deliver innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication abilities and a proven track record of effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Advanced degree in engineering.
