Ophthalmic Assistant

The Ophthalmic Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Eye Center, performing a variety of clinical duties to ensure seamless patient care. Key responsibilities include conducting patient intake, performing ophthalmic tests, and maintaining infection control standards.

• Conduct patient intake, including chief complaint, medical history, and medication reconciliation
• Perform ophthalmic tests and measurements in preparation for the provider's assessment
• Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing surgical instruments and cleaning equipment and exam rooms

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Ophthalmic Certification (COA/COT) preferred
• Previous experience in the ophthalmic/optometric field preferred but not required
• Basic knowledge of general office equipment
