The Ophthalmic Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Eye Center, performing a variety of clinical duties to ensure seamless patient care. Key responsibilities include conducting patient intake, performing ophthalmic tests, and maintaining infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct patient intake, including chief complaint, medical history, and medication reconciliation
- Perform ophthalmic tests and measurements in preparation for the provider's assessment
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing surgical instruments and cleaning equipment and exam rooms
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Ophthalmic Certification (COA/COT) preferred
- Previous experience in the ophthalmic/optometric field preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of general office equipment
