We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Unit Service Aide to join our team at Spaulding Hospital - Boston and Cambridge. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide exceptional support services to patients and staff, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms, common areas, and equipment are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Supply Management: Manage patient supplies and equipment, storing them in accordance with infection control and safety policies, and distributing them as needed.
- Transportation: Safely transport patients and equipment to designated areas, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Communication: Answer telephone calls and respond to requests in a professional and courteous manner, adhering to established standards.
- Meal Tray Assistance: Assist with meal tray distribution, setup, and removal, ensuring efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Bed Making: Make unoccupied beds according to established guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Equipment Operation: Assist patients with operating television, telephone, and other equipment in their rooms.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients at risk for safety issues, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
- Room Preparation: Assist with room preparation in anticipation of new admissions, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Additional Responsibilities: Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as assigned, upholding the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education/Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Skills: Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to maintain a variable work schedule.
