Position Overview

Freese and Nichols is in search of a talented Engineer EIT to join our expanding team in Colorado. This role offers a unique opportunity for both personal and professional development, emphasizing experience and proven capabilities. As a Stormwater Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Executing calculations and analyses essential for the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Ensuring design compliance on tasks within established guidelines, under the supervision of senior staff, to facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of stormwater design plans, specifications, reports, and studies. Assisting with construction management duties as required.
  • Conducting thorough investigations, collecting relevant data, and preparing comprehensive documentation for stormwater studies and reports.
  • Gaining familiarity with the methodologies and techniques necessary for effective stormwater planning and design projects. Providing mentorship and support to junior engineers, GIS analysts, and drafting personnel on assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to relay information and assist in coordinating efforts among team members and groups. Supporting the Project Manager with project coordination, invoicing, and decision-making processes.
  • Assisting the Project Team in estimating engineering project costs while maintaining awareness of project budgets to ensure assignments are completed within financial constraints.
  • Delivering responsive client service and supporting the Project Manager and team during client meetings.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field).
  • EIT Certification.
  • CFM Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design software, including SWMM, CUHP, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM, FLO2D, Civil3D, and/or Microstation is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
The annual salary range for this role is competitive and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications relative to the minimum and preferred requirements. Exempt employees may be eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked beyond forty (40) hours per week. Additionally, employees may qualify for annual bonuses based on company performance and growth, with higher compensation grades considering both group and individual performance.
