Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of perioperative care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist members of the anesthesia staff in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to position patients for special procedures.
  • Participate in the transfer of patients from stretcher/bed and attach vital signs and related monitoring devices.
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of patients from the operating room to the PACU.
  • Perform related duties in a prompt and courteous manner, such as transporting blood samples to respiratory for blood gases.
  • Maintain appropriate supply of anesthesia equipment and pharmaceutical supplies in all locations where anesthesia and related procedures are administered.
  • Coordinate requests from the anesthesia team by collecting items needed during each surgical procedure.
  • Execute equipment repairs within 24 hours to ensure patient safety and continuance of planned schedule of surgical procedures.
  • Monitor a log of daily anesthesia equipment safety checks and document appropriately.
  • Assist the Nurse Manager by completing purchase requisitions for needed items when par levels are affected.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months hospital experience required.
  • Previous Anesthesia Tech experience preferred.
