Job Title:
Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:
Actalent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to perform facility design and facilities consulting services for a diverse client base of federal government clients, including the Department of Defense. This position is fully remote, although proximity to Washington, DC is preferred. Alternative work schedules may be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to analyze existing conditions, identify stakeholder concerns, and develop engineering recommendations for new or renovated facilities
  • Prepare facility design packages for a wide range of facilities, including industrial, administrative, storage, and support facilities
  • Prepare all designs in accordance with relevant local, state, and federal codes and standards
  • Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as engineering recommendations, conceptual plans, or other technical documentation
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders internal and external to the design team (e.g., engineering and manufacturing departments)
  • Opportunity to manage projects if you have relevant skills and desire (not required staff with 100% technical focus are also needed)
