About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Critical Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering mechanical systems for various transit projects in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for transit facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop mechanical design concepts.
  • Manage mechanical projects, including project management, technical supervision, and commissioning.
  • Ensure design conforms to applicable codes and client standards.
  • Travel to construction sites to conduct inspections and prepare reports.
  • Supervise junior engineers and technologists, including mark-ups and review of design and drafting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration may be required.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skill proficiency.
  • Well-organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm in design of HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, and process systems.

Preferred Requirements

  • Registered as a P.Eng.
  • Leadership experience in mechanical/industrial systems in a transit maintenance facility.
  • Local experience in the transit market with strong ties and background in the local market, Transit authorities, and consulting community.
