Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Childrens Hospital Of The Kings Daughter. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with psychiatric and medical needs.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing.
Requirements
  • Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
  • CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
  • PALS required.
  • RN certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric inpatient or emergency room setting required.
  • Experience in both pediatric medical and psychiatric settings preferred.
Working Conditions

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
