Catholic Health is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional food service and support.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver food trays and nourishments to residents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assemble prepared food according to individual needs and dietary requirements.
- Collect soiled trays, clean the kitchen, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Sort and store utensils and supplies, and perform dishwashing duties.
- Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts, and other food items as needed.
- Stock floor refrigerators and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Respond to the special needs of each group served, including age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, developmental or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities.
- Assist in the orientation of new employees and provide training and support as needed.
- Set up and check resident trays accurately, prepare nourishments, and properly set up tray line stations.
- Follow diet extensions and portion control, and prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Follow sanitation policies for handling and storing food to minimize cross-contamination.
- Properly set up beverage carts and other special events as assigned.
- Satisfactorily work at the dish room station, record dishwasher temperatures, and ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment according to policy, and complete assignments within allotted time.
- Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when handling supplies and equipment, and follow established policies and procedures for use of personal protective equipment.
- Familiar with department and facility Performance Improvement Projects.
- Knowledge of MSDS.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes and re-assignments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
