NCH Healthcare, a community-focused non-profit entity, is in search of a Surgical Unit Nurse Supervisor for our Operating Room. We are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services and ensuring comprehensive patient care.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Surgical Unit Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the independent planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care in various patient scenarios, adhering to established care standards and organizational policies. This position also encompasses educational and leadership roles, along with active participation in departmental committees and initiatives aimed at quality enhancement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately locate and document patient care information related to medical and nursing needs.
- Employ effective interviewing techniques to gather comprehensive patient histories.
- Provide patient care utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Assess and evaluate the outcomes of nursing interventions.
- Complete assigned care tasks within designated timeframes.
- Maintain open communication with patients and their families/significant others.
- Be available for on-call duties as necessary.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Florida.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in the Operating Room is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications are mandatory.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
