Coating Line Technician

Available after completing one year of employment.

Position Overview for Coating Line Technician:

Responsible for preparing and suspending components for the coating line process and/or packaging finished items for shipment.

Key Responsibilities for Coating Line Technician:

  • Properly suspend components for processing on the powder coating line.
  • Utilize compressed air to eliminate excess moisture from components.
  • Mask specific areas according to client specifications to ensure they remain uncoated.
  • Inspect, package, and document completed products for transfer to subsequent departments.

Additional Responsibilities for Coating Line Technician:

  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the coating line area.
  • Monitor scrap and rework processes.
  • Move pallets into the coating line to ensure clear pathways.

Required Skills and Qualifications for Coating Line Technician:

  • Ability to manipulate components and assemblies with manual dexterity, including masking tasks.
  • Capable of following instructions accurately and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints is advantageous.

Experience and Education for Coating Line Technician:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in manufacturing; experience in powder coating is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Work Environment for Coating Line Technician:

  • Work is conducted in a machine shop environment where dust, grease, and metal shavings are common.
  • Personal protective equipment required includes:
  • Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, hearing protection (ear muffs), and potentially a mask in the painting area.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
