WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

This position is accountable for implementing and managing programs and policies that align with the vision for achieving top-tier Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance. Responsibilities include engaging in EHS governance, auditing, management systems, compliance initiatives, and reporting to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies (including Hazard Communication, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Machine Guarding, etc.).

• Prepare and submit compliance documentation to regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of EHS initiatives using established goals, metrics, and scorecards.

• Conduct investigations into incidents and near misses, utilizing root cause analysis to formulate corrective action plans.

• Oversee compliance with environmental permits.

• Manage personal protective equipment programs for associates.

• Lead hazardous waste management and disposal efforts.

• Implement facility-wide safety initiatives, including ergonomics and first aid training.

• Drive sustainability projects and report on environmental efforts.

• Coordinate safety data sheet programs for materials used in operations.

• Facilitate emergency action plans and procedures for various scenarios.

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Create pollution and waste management programs.

• Conduct risk assessments and ensure the development of Job Hazard Analyses for specific tasks.

• Participate in managing Workers' Compensation cases in collaboration with the Benefits Administrator.

• Ensure contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.

• Conduct EHS meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for EHS activities.

• Investigate all environmental, health, and safety incidents promptly to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.

• Three to five years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a manufacturing setting.

• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.

• Willingness to support a 24/7 operational environment.

• Familiarity with EHS management systems, including ISO 14001.

• Completion of OSHA General Industry 10- or 30-hour training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent EHS certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Lifting (max 40lbs) for several hours daily

• General Office Environment (4 hours daily)

• Manufacturing Environment (2.5 hours daily)

• Exposure to Hazardous Materials (0.5 hours daily)

• Exposure to Heavy Machinery (1 hour daily)
