Make Your Mark in Retail Property

AIG's Retail Property division is a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. As an underwriter, you'll work closely with our distribution teams, territory managers, and other underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities. You'll also collaborate with brokers to understand deal structures, terms, and AIG services that best meet clients' needs.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with brokers and clients.
  2. Develop strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to profitably grow a book of business.
  3. Work with your manager to develop an individual business plan aligned with product strategies.
  4. Maintain risk selection in adherence with product guidelines and achieve rate, renewal retention, and new business goals.
  5. Provide mentoring and training to less-experienced underwriters.
  6. Deliver superior customer service to brokers and clients.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial insurance company, agency, or brokerage experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of lines of business in a specific Retail Property line of business.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship-building experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
