Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electronics Assembly Technician to become a vital part of our team at SGB Enterprises Inc. The successful candidate will engage in a range of assembly tasks related to circuit boards, focusing on both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through Hole components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hand soldering and thorough inspection of electronic components.
- Utilize a microscope for precision soldering tasks over extended periods.
- Execute micro soldering on Integrated Circuit (IC) chips and various SMT components using hand-soldering tools and hot air reflow equipment.
- Demonstrate advanced rework capabilities on printed wiring boards.
- Conduct SMT rework, ensuring the careful removal and replacement of components while maintaining product quality.
- Repair and rework internal products to meet industry and customer standards for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).
- Collaborate daily with Production Control, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams.
- Assemble and inspect circuit card assemblies with the assistance of a microscope (on-site training provided).
- Interpret and understand complex work instructions, schematics, and parts lists.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and upkeep as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hand soldering, surface mount, through hole, and electronic component identification.
- Strong aptitude for reading schematics, prints, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Familiarity with ESD practices and procedures.
- Preferred training in industry standards such as IPC and J-Std.
Skills Required:
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively within a small, motivated team.
- Proficient in identifying component packages and values.
- Capable of sitting for prolonged periods and using hand tools such as cutters and wire strippers.
- Must possess the ability to remove and replace defective components.
