About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Tech I to join our team at UNC Medical Center's Medical ICU. As a dual role of Nursing Assistant I and Health Unit Coordinator (Clerical), this position requires strong clinical and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in clerical or customer service roles, preferably with basic life support certification. A commitment to excellence in patient care and dedication to teamwork are essential qualities for this position.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, and maintaining patient rooms. You will also assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, while ensuring accurate documentation of patient care. In addition, you will perform a range of clerical tasks, including organizing workload, answering phone calls, and maintaining medical records. Quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory management of supplies are also part of your duties. Furthermore, you will provide administrative support, including data entry and PI audits.

Benefits
This position offers an estimated annual salary of approximately $130,560, based on a 40-hour workweek. Additional benefits include eligibility for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which offers $5,000 paid over three years with a commitment to working 12-hour rotating shifts. Requirements
Successful candidates must possess a strong foundation in nursing principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a similar role is desirable, but not required. Additionally, you should be proficient in using electronic medical records systems and have basic computer skills. If not already competent, you will need to develop these skills. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.

Working Conditions
This role requires working in a hospital setting, often under pressure, and may involve exposure to infectious diseases. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and demands of the workplace.
