Overview

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a 30-bed critical care unit that provides cutting-edge care for critically ill patients with a wide range of medical and pulmonary diagnoses. As a Clinical Support Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Salary

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $17.50 to $24.63 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. With 36 hours worked per week, you can expect a generous compensation package.

Job Description

As a Clinical Support Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, and setting up and maintaining patient rooms.
  • Critically reviewing patient care documentation, noting significant changes in the patient's condition, and reporting immediately to a registered nurse or physician.
  • Providing a variety of clerical tasks, including organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, researching information as requested by nurses and physicians, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, and answering the telephone and patient call lights.
  • Transcribing physician orders, maintaining medical records, performing routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies.
  • Providing direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, assisting with ambulation, measuring and recording vital signs, and patient height and weight.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least six months of clerical or customer service experience
  • Fluency in verbal and written English language
