Job Summary

The Commissioning Engineer will lead the commissioning of substation projects, ensuring that all activities are completed to the highest standards. This includes physical inspection of the substation, protection and control (P&C) testing, and overseeing accompanying team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop commissioning plans for substation projects, including physical design and P&C.
  • Develop relay settings files for SEL, GE, and Basler relays from protection summary sheets and AC/DC schematics.
  • Responsible for testing of current transformers, protective relays, and SCADA systems.
  • Adjust group-operated switches and fully function test relay panels.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 4+ years of experience in commissioning, or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Detailed knowledge of relay systems and substation equipment.
  • Understanding of substation physical design and P&C.
  • Understanding of protection concepts around bus, transformer, transmission line, and distribution line protection.
