Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas. This includes ensuring the proper storage and handling of food, equipment, and supplies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also be responsible for assisting the kitchen staff with cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining areas, as well as supporting other restaurant staff members as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the availability of clean dishes and equipment by washing, sanitizing, and storing them properly.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining areas, including floors, counters, and equipment.
  • Assist the kitchen staff with food preparation and service, as needed.
  • Support other restaurant staff members with tasks such as taking out the trash, restocking supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining areas.
  • Report any kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures to management.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
