Position Summary:
The Accounting & Finance Department at RevZilla is composed of dynamic professionals who are encouraged to leverage their expertise and creativity. This role is situated within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the Accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting. The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting monthly reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts.
- Managing tasks related to the upkeep of the general ledger, along with financial analysis and reporting, while assisting in the preparation of financial statements.
- Applying financial principles to business analysis and planning to ensure robust controls are in place for achieving desired outcomes.
- Utilizing innovative thinking to address complex accounting issues.
- Contributing to special projects as they arise within the business.
- Assisting with various aspects of our annual audit, including interim and year-end testing, as well as managing audit requests.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliation principles, and the interpretation of accounting guidelines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas such as index-match, vlookups, and macros.
- A proactive attitude with a passion for process improvement.
- Self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across the organization.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following are advantageous:
- CPA certification or candidacy.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards and RetailPro.
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, technology, or consumer products sectors.
