About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler/Cylinder Maintenance Technician to join our team at American Welding and Gas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our gas cylinders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Gas Cylinders: Conduct thorough inspections of gas cylinders to detect surface defects and test the thickness of cylinder walls.
  • Maintain Equipment: Safely move gas cylinders off pallets onto testing equipment, calibrate and adjust ultrasonic testing equipment to required standards and settings.
  • Record and Document Results: Review and interpret test results and documentation as it relates to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate computer equipment and value machine (if applicable) to conduct testing, and operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Skills: Able to read and write English, mechanically inclined, technical skills, and computer skills.
