Job Title: Underwriter

Job Summary:

The Underwriter is a critical role in our organization, responsible for providing efficient, timely, and accurate loan decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review loan files for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with APMC guidelines and investor/agency requirements.
  • Underwrite loans in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
  • Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless loan processing.
  • Respond to quality control audit findings in a timely and proficient manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • At least three (3) years of underwriting experience, with a strong understanding of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Authority to underwrite CONV and designated authority for USDA and/or Jumbo products.
  • General experience and understanding of mortgage products, including Mortgage Builder, Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
