Job Summary:
The Underwriter is a critical role in our organization, responsible for providing efficient, timely, and accurate loan decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Review loan files for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with APMC guidelines and investor/agency requirements.
- Underwrite loans in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
- Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless loan processing.
- Respond to quality control audit findings in a timely and proficient manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- At least three (3) years of underwriting experience, with a strong understanding of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures.
- Authority to underwrite CONV and designated authority for USDA and/or Jumbo products.
- General experience and understanding of mortgage products, including Mortgage Builder, Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
