Job Summary

The Property Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an individual apartment community, ensuring that all aspects of the property are managed efficiently and effectively. This includes supervising site staff, handling rental collection and bank deposits, and maintaining a satisfactory level of occupancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Develop and implement schedules for maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping work
    • Supervise and inspect grounds, trash receptacles, parking lots, vacant apartments, and common areas
    • Assign work orders to service personnel and follow up on assignments
    • Inspect service contract work prior to payment
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Hire, supervise, and discharge employees as needed
    • Train and motivate employees to meet performance standards
    • Review and approve time cards
    • Conduct annual performance reviews
  • Financial Management
    • Manage rental collection and bank deposits
    • Supervise the purchasing of necessary materials and supplies
    • Maintain an inventory of equipment and furniture
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
    • Minimum 1-3 years of proven apartment management experience
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior property management experience
  • ARM Certification and CPM designation preferred
Special Demands/Physical Requirements

This role requires sitting or standing at a desk for long periods of time, as well as frequent driving to properties for audits and training seminars.
