Job Summary:

Driscoll Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and commitment to patient care will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively to promote a positive work environment.
  • Take initiative to resolve problems and work collaboratively with the surgical team.
  • Refrain from negative talk and gossip, and promote a culture of respect and professionalism.
  • Assist in the maintenance, care, and cleanliness of the department, supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Transport instruments back to decontamination in closed carts following cases.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and staff meetings.
  • Utilize self-directed learning activities to maintain competency and above.

Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
  • Pediatric scrub tech experience is preferred.
  • Current national certification as a surgical technologist or within 180 days of graduation if new graduate.
  • Graduation from a surgical technologist program and employed as a surgical technologist before 2009 in lieu of certification.
  • CPR certification.
