POSITION TITLE
Instructional Support Specialist
(Non-Represented Employee)
PRIMARY ROLE
This position is designed to enhance the distinctive theme of the school or program.
Under the general supervision of the school principal, the specialist will assist in the planning and execution of California State Standards with elementary students, focusing on a vital specialized program that integrates various subject areas, including visual and performing arts, history, music, science, mathematics, language arts, social sciences, and cultural studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Collaborate with elementary educators across all grade levels to facilitate the incorporation of California State Standards objectives within a specialized program.
Design and deliver lessons tailored to each grade level that foster appreciation and understanding in a specialized field, linking it to core subject areas.
Provide specialized instruction and standards-aligned activities both inside and outside the classroom.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Perform related responsibilities similar in nature and scope as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or
GED
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Understanding of the fundamentals, principles, and theories relevant to the specialized subject area.
Effective instructional methodologies.
Awareness of the objectives outlined in state-adopted curricula for specific subject areas when applicable.
