Overview:
The role involves designing and delivering engaging, developmentally suitable learning experiences that foster students' academic growth and language skills.
Reports to the designated Principal.Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a valid teaching certificate or be eligible for certification in the relevant area. Prior experience in an educational environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a curriculum that aligns with the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- May instruct in various subjects as assigned.
- Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and caters to the developmental stages of students.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans and engaging activities tailored for individual students or specific classes.
- Guide students towards achieving curriculum objectives; set clear goals for lessons and communicate these effectively.
- Utilize a range of instructional methods and resources that accommodate the unique needs of students.
- Evaluate student work and maintain precise records of academic performance.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide necessary feedback.
- Report any observed learning challenges to the appropriate specialists.
- Keep accurate and current records as mandated by regulations and district policies.
- Support school administration in enforcing policies and maintaining classroom discipline.
- Monitor student behavior to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assist students requiring additional support.
- Oversee the contributions of teaching assistants and volunteers.
- Foster positive communication with parents; organize and conduct parent-teacher meetings and educational workshops.
- Manage classroom supplies and equipment, submitting requests as needed.
- Participate in special programs, projects, or events as necessary; serve as a mentor for student organizations.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to various committees as required.
- Engage in professional development and training opportunities.
- Coordinate arrangements for substitute teachers when necessary.
- Operate various educational technologies and equipment effectively.
Additional Responsibilities:
May provide additional support to students during or after school hours as needed. Maintain a tidy and organized classroom environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
