Digital Studies Faculty Position

Bowdoin College's Program of Digital and Computational Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities- Teach two courses per semester, including introductory computational methods, statistical methods, text analysis, network analysis, spatial analysis, societal impact of AI, digital media, art and technology, social media, and an advanced course in the candidate's area of specialization.
- Develop and maintain a strong research agenda, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches to digital and computational technologies.
- Contribute to the development of the Program of Digital and Computational Studies, including curriculum design, program assessment, and community engagement.
- Engage in service to the College, including departmental and institutional committees, and participate in faculty governance.
- PhD in a relevant field, expected by date of appointment.
- Strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and inclusive excellence in teaching.
- Ability to develop and teach courses that integrate digital and computational technologies with other disciplines.
- Experience with digital pedagogy and curriculum design.
- Strong research agenda, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches to digital and computational technologies.
