Job Title: Neurological Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Neurological Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary care team at St. David's Medical Center, a leading 435-bed facility. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively to deliver safe and accurate care to our patients.

Job Summary

The Neurological Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. You will work closely with the care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, revising as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop, evaluate, and revise the plan of care to meet the patient's needs and goals.
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient care, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments, promoting informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team, ensuring a seamless transition for patients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Education and Certifications

You will need:

  • An Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
License and Certifications

You will need to have:

  • A current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
