Job Summary

Oklahoma State University is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Chemistry courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and providing a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, content, and presentations to effectively engage students and promote learning.
  • Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate student and course records, as well as current course outlines, objectives, and grading procedures.
  • Exhibit innovative and adaptive instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide continuing education experiences for the community, promoting lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Complete all mandatory training and adhere to university policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Chemistry or a related field, or Master's Degree with 18 hours in Chemistry.
  • Must have educational qualifications to teach in the subject area or have documented specialty education/experience to meet tested experience requirements.
  • Programs with discipline-specific external accreditation may have more stringent training and experience requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, in a busy and noisy environment.
  • Work will be performed in an office and classroom environment with a significant amount of public contact.
Physical Requirements
  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs.
