**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Liaison to join our team at the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District. As a key member of our Rental Assistance Program Department, you will provide exceptional customer service to tenants, landlords, visitors, staff, contractors, and the general public.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide customer service to applicants, property owners, and their agents via phone, email, and in-person.
  2. Answer incoming calls and respond to messages; respond to inquiries regarding program information, admissions process, application status, rent payments, and escalate matters as needed.
  3. Document communications with tenants, landlords, and applicants for appropriate locations.
  4. Receive and respond to inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  5. Correspond and collaborate with staff in the department and throughout the Agency to resolve issues and provide information.
  6. Maintain positive communications and relations with internal and external partners.
  7. Release information according to company policies and procedures and ensure the confidentiality of information and records.
  8. Provide clerical and administrative support to the Housing Choice Voucher team, including recordkeeping, document generation, data tracking, phoning, mailing, and filing.

About You:

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience as a receptionist or customer service representative.
  • You possess strong computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn other software programs as required.
  • You are able to remain in a stationary position for long periods, move about the office, and attend onsite and offsite meetings.
  • You can exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone and occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.
