Materials Manager Plant Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager Plant to oversee Supply Chain Management (SCM) programs and systems, ensuring the efficient movement of all direct and indirect inventory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, inventory control, and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee SCM programs and systems to ensure efficient inventory movement
- Develop and implement plans to meet or exceed key SCM objectives, such as customer delivery, inventory management, and inventory accuracy
- Manage and oversee planning, scheduling, transportation, data integrity, trade compliance, and material handling for assigned facility
- Develop and maintain local SCM policies and procedures
- Manage material handling team by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining associates
- Meet materials management financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, and analyzing variances
- Meet forecasts and current orders by overseeing production planning and scheduling systems
- Manage inventory by determining and maintaining optimum inventory and cost levels
- Store and ship product by enforcing warehousing policies and procedures
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures
- Provide management control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum of two years' experience in scheduling and coordinating the efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer demand in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 environment
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an union environment
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Supervisory role
- Solid and extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, daily operations, material handling, quality criteria, safety, and human resource issues
- Strong knowledge of principles and practices of personal administration
- Strong leadership skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Working experience with business-related computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Operating knowledge of Plexus system
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong level of planning and organizational abilities
- High level of analytical ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Prior management/supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing process, including Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and pull systems
- Able to pass a crane certification test
- Certified through the company to operate a crane
- Strong understanding of 5S
- Must adhere to all safety requirements
- Must show willingness to demonstrate S4 principles in daily job duties
- Must show attention to detail, maintain a productive attitude, and have willingness to take extra steps to ensure the job is done correctly
