Position Title: Medical Customer Service Representative

Compensation: $16-$17/hr based on experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications with clients and providers through various channels.
  • Contact providers regarding the status of refund requests related to overpayments.
  • Accurately document all relevant account details in the Health Information System.
  • Handle appeals and process incoming emails and faxes efficiently.
  • Review and analyze client and provider inquiries to ensure proper resolution steps are taken.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer service issues.
  • Communicate findings clearly to clients and providers in both written and verbal formats.
  • Maintain necessary reports and spreadsheets as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in customer service or call center environments is essential.
  • Familiarity with the revenue cycle in both inpatient and outpatient settings is required.
  • Experience with claims, denials, and appeals processes is necessary.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and contract interpretation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service roles.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Technical proficiency with various software systems.
