The selected candidate will oversee financial strategy, planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, and banking relationships. This role demands collaboration with the executive leadership team to shape the financial direction and operational effectiveness of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and uphold policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead financial strategy, planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, and banking relations.
  • Deliver timely and precise analyses of budgets, financial reports, and trends.
  • Contribute to the formulation of strategic plans and programs as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Assess and advise on the financial implications of long-term planning, new initiatives, and regulatory changes.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and leadership on decision-making matters impacting the organization.
  • Supervise accounting and accounts payable functions while promoting best practices.
  • Manage asset allocation and annual capital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with external audit requirements and assist with necessary deliverables.
  • Offer guidance on effective decision-making regarding capital costs.
  • Support investor relations initiatives with data and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven career progression in finance with a concentration on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience within the cannabis and/or retail sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in building finance teams from a leadership position.
  • Passionate about driving positive change through proactive engagement.
  • Experience managing relationships with financial institutions.
  • Must be based in Michigan.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous CFO experience in a startup environment.
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA.
