Key Responsibilities

In the initial phase, you will engage in assignments of manageable complexity, providing a platform for learning and growth. As you progress, you will assess risks at larger and more intricate properties by visiting client sites and conducting evaluations that accurately measure potential physical and human element exposures while collaborating with the client's management team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough on-site evaluations of the physical property, including tours of the facility's interior, roofs, and exterior.
  • Assessing site water supplies, fire protection systems, dust hazards, electrical infrastructures, chemical storage and processing, structural designs, construction materials, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensuring adherence to Factory Mutual Engineering Standards and effectively communicating relevant recommendations and engineering solutions to clients.
  • Supporting clients in implementing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Working remotely from a home office while traveling to client locations regularly (overnight travel is anticipated 3-5 nights per month, approximately 15-25%).
Qualifications

Ideal candidates for the Consultant Engineer position will possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (various disciplines are acceptable).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Solid technical knowledge encompassing a wide range of engineering principles.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders, lift over 25 lbs., and work at heights.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Authorization to work in the relevant country.
  • Ability to work autonomously and operate from a home office when not in the field.
The compensation range for this role is between $71,200 and $102,200, with the final salary offer contingent upon individual education, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for Factory Mutual Insurance Company's comprehensive Total Rewards program, which includes an incentive plan, extensive health and wellness programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work arrangements, and generous time-off policies.
