About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Services Manager 2 to join our team at the Department of General Services. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising maintenance and repair activities for the Harristown 1 and 2 buildings in Harrisburg.


Key Responsibilities

As a Facilities Services Manager 2, you will:

  • Plan, organize, and direct in-house maintenance repairmen and contracted personnel to accomplish repairs and replacement of parts, as well as preventive maintenance throughout the assigned building.
  • Work with and monitor contractors completing repairs, construction, and renovations to the interior and exterior of buildings, ensuring management is kept informed of projects and progress.
  • Perform routine daily building inspections to ensure custodial, environmental control, and maintenance standards are achieved and that all deficiencies are cited.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate the specifications and requirements for contracts in coordination with the Bureau of Facilities Management and the Bureau of Real Estate.
  • Serve as the Building Recycling Coordinator.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of experience as a Facility Services Manager 1 or five years of routine maintenance work experience with three years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial or industrial facility.
  • An associate's degree in commercial property management, commercial real estate, industrial technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, HVAC, electrical technology, electronics, building automation, construction, or a related field, and three years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial or industrial facility.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training with three years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial or industrial facility.
