Job Overview:

As a vital member of our culinary team, the Line Cook / Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of food items according to standardized recipes while adhering to sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all food production processes are followed to create appealing and delicious dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock the preparation station and kitchen.
  • Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and making sauces.
  • Report directly to the executive chef and follow their guidance.
  • Ensure that food preparation and storage areas comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in prep areas and manage leftovers effectively.
  • Stock inventory and supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality food service.
  • Adhere to nutrition and sanitation standards.
  • Foster a positive and professional relationship with coworkers and guests.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in training new associates and cross-training existing staff.
  • Support the Executive Chef in maintaining quality standards.
  • Participate in special projects and other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of hotel safety and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with the associate handbook regulations.
  • Proven experience in cooking.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to execute tasks with accuracy and speed.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
