Position Summary: The role involves planning and executing daily lesson plans while ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the preschool setting through the following responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and submits monthly lesson plans in alignment with administrative guidelines.
2. Ensures a safe classroom environment and supervises outdoor activities.
3. Engages children through various instructional methods, including play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, science, and physical activities.
4. Supports children in completing projects and enhancing their learning skills.
5. Creates and maintains a classroom atmosphere that includes relevant visual aids tailored to the curriculum and developmental stages.
6. Monitors and documents each child's unique talents, abilities, and challenges, reporting concerns to management as necessary.
7. Encourages and nurtures each child's self-esteem and development across physical, social, emotional, and cognitive domains.
8. Conducts annual evaluations for children or as needed.
9. Fosters positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
10. Assists children with personal care tasks appropriate to their age and developmental stage.
11. Collaborates closely with Classroom Leaders in a team-teaching environment, sharing insights and suggestions regularly.
12. Oversees daily activities of volunteers and classroom aides.
13. Participates in training sessions, conferences, staff meetings, and parent meetings as required.
14. Performs general cleaning duties within the classroom as needed.
15. Maintains daily activity summaries and provides documentation to parents/guardians.
16. Keeps accurate attendance records and related paperwork.
17. Adheres to established policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
18. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Early Education and Care or a related field is preferred, or in the process of completion. A minimum of six months of experience working with preschool-aged children is required for candidates with a Bachelor's degree, or at least one year of experience for those without. Familiarity with the Department of Early Education and Care regulations and QRIS Standards is essential. The ability to cultivate positive, effective relationships with staff, children, families, volunteers, and community members is crucial for this role. Completion of all EEC strong start training and compliance with EEC Staff Records Checklist is required. Candidates must possess EEC Preschool License Requirements from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
