About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in designing and building an enterprise-wide cloud-native, web-scale platform that will be adopted by engineering teams across various business units within DISH.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop a cloud-native platform that meets the needs of our organization
  • Drive a customer-centric approach to the evolution of our platform
  • Continuously improve our hybrid cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and reliability
  • Build and manage advanced AWS services, including SSO, Organization, Service Catalog, Step Functions, Account Factory, and Control Tower
  • Innovate automation capabilities in the cloud platform and create new feature sets as per application patterns for hosting in the cloud
  • Collaborate with application development, operations, testing, and delivery teams to ensure seamless software delivery in an agile environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; a Master's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of professional enterprise development experience
  • 4+ years of experience using a broad range of AWS technologies, including EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, KMS, and Kinesis Streams
  • Hands-on design and coding experience on EKS, Rancher, Docker, Helm, Istio, ELK, Prometheus, Terraform, and Python
  • Strong building, troubleshooting, and management experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Amazon AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools
  • Industry certifications in Kubernetes, DevOps, and Cloud Platforms are highly desirable
Preferred Skills:
  • Argo, Gitlab, Vault, Consul, Ansible, API Gateway, Kafka, and DevOps concepts
  • Scripting skills in AWS Infrastructure-as-a-Code using Terraform scripting
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python
  • Operating Systems: Linux/Ubuntu system administration
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools, including Prometheus, New Relic, and Pager Duty
  • Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services
