Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Dental Depot. As a key member of our hygiene department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist hygienists in preparing patients for treatment, setting up equipment, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments, as well as prepare materials and assist during dental procedures.
  • Expose dental diagnostic x-rays and maintain x-ray sensor care and guidelines.
  • Coronal polish teeth efficiently to assist hygienists during preventative and periodontal visits.
  • Take and record medical and dental histories, as well as vital signs of patients.
  • Assist in managing medical or dental emergencies and provide post-operative instructions as prescribed by hygienists.
  • Make post-operative calls to patients and instruct them in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory for the hygiene department.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain a full hygiene schedule, following up with patients on missed appointments and rescheduling accordingly.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • Completion of dental assisting school or minimum three months experience in a dental office
  • Dental Assistant permit within 30 days of employment
  • Coronal Polish Certificate and Radiation Certificate within six months of employment
  • Dental software knowledge (Eaglesoft knowledge preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
